The White Horse Final

On the day of the Cup Final, 300,000 people turned up to watch the match. Some had tickets, most did not. They climbed over the turnstiles, scaled walls, broke down barriers and invaded the pitch. PC George Scorey’s police horse, Billie, was the defining image of that monumental day, which became known as the ‘White Horse Final’.
